Midfielder frustrated by lack of opportunities

Hoffenheim midfielder Francisco Copado will leave the Bundesliga leaders in the winter transfer window. The 34-year-old former Eintracht Frankfurt player has been given very few first-team opportunities during Hoffenheim's sensational season so far and has now asked to be released from his contract. "'Paco told us that he would like to begin a new stage in his career both from a playing point of view and with regard to his future after retirement," Hoffenheim general manager Jan Schindelmeiser told the club's official website. "As a result of his performances and service to the club over the last two years, we have decided to grant his wish. "His name will forever be linked with our promotions to the second division and the Bundesliga. We wish him and his family the best of luck and success for the future." Copado joined Hoffenheim in 2006 and scored 25 goals in 66 league appearances for the club.
