Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Oka Nikolov is set to be sidelined until January with a foot problem.
The 34-year-old had to be replaced at half-time during Eintracht's 4-0 win over Hannover on Saturday and club doctors have now confirmed he has torn a tendon in his right foot.
An operation will not be necessary, but Nikolov will not be available for Frankfurt's final three league matches before the winter break.
Eintracht coach Friedhelm Funkel will now turn to fit-again Markus Proll, who lost his position as number one to Nikolov earlier in the season after being injured himself.
Funkel assured Nikolov only last week that he would remain his first-choice keeper until Christmas, despite a number of poor recent performances.
