Borussia Monchengladbach starlet Marko Marin says he is confident of burdening the weight of expectation ahead of his first full Bundesliga season.
The 19-year-old winger, who starred in the Foals' promotion season last term and has earned a place in Germany's national squad, is aware that the spotlight will be very much upon him in the coming weeks.
"This season will be tougher for me, but I want to prove myself and show that I have what it takes to be a success in the Bundesliga," Marin told Kicker.
"There is always pressure and I have to handle it."
Marin was called up for Germany's provisional Euro 2008 squad before surprisingly failing to make Joachim Low's final cut. He now admits that he is targeting the 2010 World Cup, but knows that he still has a long way to go:
"First of all I just want to keep playing well in order to get more chances in the national team," he added.
