Midfielder signs three-year contract

Stuttgart midfielder Sami Khedira has agreed a new contract extension. The Germany Under 21 international has put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal to put an end to speculation about his future. Khedira, who has become a regular starter under coach Armin Veh after coming through the junior ranks at Stuttgart, had been linked with a number of other clubs. But he has expressed his delight after committing his future to Stuttgart. "I am very glad to be able to continue playing for VfB," he told the club's official website. "I have a strong personal connection to the club, the city and the region. "I feel very much at home at VfB and so extending my contract was the logical step to take."
