Germany Under 21 international Dennis Aogo has joined Bundesliga outfit Hamburg from Freiburg.
The 21-year-old, who can play at left-back and in midfield, put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal with manager Martin Jol's new club on Wednesday.
Aogo is believed to have cost the Rothosen a fee in the region of 1.5million euros (£1.2million).
The player told the club's official website: "When I heard about the interest it was clear to me that I would only be going to Hamburg.
"It is the dream of every young player to be able to play for a club like HSV."
Aogo will join former Freiburg team-mate Jonathon Pitroipa at the HSH Nordbank Arena, who agreed a contract with Hamburg earlier this year.
