Peru striker Jefferson Farfan has confirmed that he is hoping to join Schalke this summer.
The 23-year-old PSV Eindhoven star told the media in his homeland that he has agreed terms with the Royal Blues.
"I have accepted their offer because I want to play in a stronger league," he said.
According to reports in Germany, Schalke have tabled a €10 million bid for Farfan, but PSV are demanding €14 million.
New Schalke boss Fred Rutten hopes that the Peruvian will team up with Germany international Kevin Kuranyi to give the club the firepower they need to make a serious Bundesliga title challenge next season.
