German rival urges Lehmann to leave Arsenal

Bayern Munich's Oliver Kahn has told rival Jens Lehmann to quit Arsenal and save his international career. The 38-year-old has not played for the Gunners since August after failing to reclaim the No.1 spot from Manuel Almunia. Lehmann has hinted at a possible return to the Bundesliga in a desperate attempt to boost his chances of starting for Germany in next year's Euro 2008 finals. And now Kahn has urged his international rival to leave North London in the transfer window if he wants to figure in Austria and Switzerland.

Impeccable

"Jens Lehmann's services to the national team have been impeccable, but you can't play in a European Championship when you are not in the team," Khan told DSF. "That's why it would be best for him to go and play where he will be in the team." Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath has already indicated he would be interested in signing the former Borussia Dortmund keeper in January.
