Borussia Dortmund midfielder Florian Kringe has put pen-to-paper on a contract extension.

Midfielder commits until 2012

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Florian Kringe has put pen-to-paper on a contract extension at the Signal Iduna Park. The 25-year-old, whose deal was due to expire at the end of the season, has accepted a new four-year contract to keep him at BVB until 2012. The news is a major boost to under-pressure Dortmund boss Thomas Doll as it is widely believed that Kringe had been targeted by Bundesliga rivals Werder Bremen, Hamburg and Bayer Leverkusen. Kringe joined the 1997 European champions from Siegen in 1994 and has made a total of 136 Bundesliga appearances for Borussia.
