Werder Bremen striker Aaron Hunt admits he does not know if he will be able to continue his career as a result of a groin injury.
The 21-year-old, who burst onto the Bundesliga scene three years ago, has been suffering from a series of injury problems over the last few months.
He has yet to play for Bremen this term as a result of groin problems and is concerned for his future.
"The doctors don't know when I'll be able to play again," Hunt told dpa.
"They can't tell me anything. Nobody knows when I'll be fit again.
"I have made several attempts to start an individual training programme, but the pain just comes back again immediately."
The news is a massive blow to both Hunt and Bremen, as the youngster was expected to feature strongly in coach Thomas Schaaf's plans this season following the summer departure of Miroslav Klose to Bayern Munich.
