Hamburg's Collin Benjamin will be out of action until the end of September after suffering a training ground injury.
The Namibia international midfielder was forced to cut short a training session on Tuesday after injuring his knee.
Operation
Further examinations have confirmed cartilage damage which will require an operation, sidelining the 29-year-old for up to six weeks.
The news is a bitter blow for Benjamin, who scored the only goal of the game in Hamburg's win over Hanover last weekend.
