Serie A football returned to Italy on Sunday and normal service was resumed for league leaders Internazionale as they recorded a 2-0 victory over Chievo.
Following the death of a policeman during rioting outside a Palermo game last Friday, four matches were played behind closed doors, with Chievo's Bentegodi stadium ruled off limits after failing to meet safety requirements.
Inter coped better with the difficult atmosphere as goals from Adriano in the first minute and Hernan Crespo not long after the break ensured they maintained their advantage at the summit in recording their 15th successive victory.
Second placed Roma were also comfortable winners as they had too much for Parma after taking a 51st minute lead through Francesco Totti.
Simone Perrotta doubled the capital club's lead in the 66th minute, before Fernando Couto was sent-off two minutes from time, leaving Rodrigo Taddei to add gloss to a polished display in added time.
At Milan, Ronaldo made his bow in red and black but his debut was overshadowed by Marek Jankulovski's thunderous winner in a 2-1 victory over Livorno, which takes them up to sixth.
Milan had earlier led when Gennaro Gattuso broke the deadlock in the 28th minute but by the half hour mark Livorno were level, thanks to Cristiano Lucarelli.
Fiorentina had first half goals from Reginaldo Ferreira and Giampaolo Pazzini to thank for a 2-0 win over Udinese, while Atalanta and Lazio could not be separated in a 0-0 stalemate.
Sergio Almiron's goal early in the second half secured Empoli a three-point haul at Palermo, with Cagliari and Siena playing out a 2-2 draw.
Siena took the lead through Daniele Corvia but goals from Andrea Capona (38) and David Suazo (67) had looked to have put Cagliari in the driving seat - only for Paul Codrea's late effort to secure his side a point.
Sampdoria claimed a 2-0 victory over Ascoli, who had Matteo Melara sent-off, thanks to goals from Christian Maggio (48) and Daniele Franceschini (75).
Rolando Bianchi's brace (48 & 58) secured Reggina a 2-1 win at Torino, who had earlier in the game drawn level through Gianluca Comotto's 50th minute equaliser.
