Sporting Lisbon have sealed the capture of Paraguayan Carlos Paredes.
The 30-year-old has agreed a three-year deal at The Jose Alvalade after he departed Italian side Reggina.
"I'm very happy to be in Portugal with a club as prestigious as Sporting," he said.
"It's an extra challenge in my career, Sporting have a lot of ambitions for the new season and I'm coming to help them realise their objectives."
The move marks a return to Portugal for Paredes, who spent two years with Porto earlier in his career.
