Parma star striker Alberto Gilardino praised his team-mates after they overturned a 1-0 first leg deficit to retain their place in Serie A.
The Gialloblu star scored the crucial second goal although paid tribute to his team-mates after they condemned Bologna to Serie B.
Gilardino is set to leave Parma for one of Europe's biggest sides in the summer and refused to elaborate on his future in the euphoria of the result.
"It is very emotional, we have been really great," said Gilardino.
"Thanks to my team-mates who have been eleven lions.
"Was this my last match with Parma? It could be.
"From Monday we will see, let's leave me to celebrate this win then we will talk again about this thing."
Keeper Sebastian Frey put in a man of the match performance as he kept Bologna out for the whole 90 minutes, and expressed that achieving safety had been his dream after a traumatic twelve months for Pietro Carmignani's side.
"This salvation was my dream because it has been a really difficult year," said Frey.
"I'm really happy, credit to the whole team because we were really keen to get this result."
