PARMA are reported to be interested in bringing former Brazilian international goalkeeper Claudio Taffarel back to Ennio Tardini from Galatasaray.

The 34-year-old shot-stopper, who spent two seasons with Gialloblu playing 74 games before moving to Reggiana, is unsure of his future at the Turkish outfit after the signing of Colombian international keeper Farid Mondragon from Metz.

Parma are keen to bring in an experienced goalkeeper to act as cover to Sebastien Frey, who joined the club from Internazionale as replacement for Italian national goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, who Juventus signed in a record-breaking deal last week.

Gialloblu coach Renzo Ulivieri already has two reserve goalkeepers in the shape of David Micillo and Matteo Guardalben, but he is unsure whether either can provide quality cover to young Frenchman Frey.

Taffarel, who won 112 caps with Brazil, may be keen on a move back to Italy as one last challenge before hanging up his gloves and calling time on an illustrious career.
