Slovenian linked with Celtic move

Sochaux playmaker Valter Birsa has admitted it would be 'wonderful' to be targeted by Celtic. The highly-rated Slovenian, currently on loan at Auxerre, has been linked with a move to Celtic in the French press. Reports have suggested that Celtic are considering a summer swoop after sending scouts to watch Birsa on a number of occasions. The 22-year-old has only just learned of the possible interest and concedes it is very flattering to be connected with such a club. Birsa is ambitious and hopes to play in the UEFA Champions League at some point in the future, although he accepts that he must not become distracted. "I am not aware of the interest but Celtic is a very big club. If they are interested in me it is wonderful," he told skysports.com. "I would like to play one day in the Champions League, so you never know. "I want to finish the season well and I still belong to Sochaux so let's wait and see."
