Bjelanovic has linked up with Chievo on loan until the end of the season from Como and is a replacement for Massimo Marazzina, who signed for Roma.
The 23-year-old admits he was taken aback by the swiftness of the deal but is determined to make the most of his chance.
"What can I say?" lamented Bjelanovic. "It has happened so quickly.
"On Friday I was training with Como and now I'm here in Verona. Anyway, I can say I'm really satisfied.
"I've joined a team who are fifth in the standings, who play good football and obtain very good results.
"Chievo is undoubtedly a big opportunity for me.
"It's probably too soon to speak about aims and expectations. Now, I think only of getting to know the coach and my team-mates.
"But I can say that the first aim is to be able to exploit this chance to learn and improve myself."
