Striker back in familiar surroundings

Italy international Amauri has re-joined Parma as a free agent after seeing a short-term deal at Fiorentina come to an end. The Brazil-born striker has signed a two-year contract, with the option for a third season. The 32-year-old took in a productive loan spell at Parma in 2011 and will be hoping to recapture his best form at Ennio Tardini following a frustrating slump. "Welcome back, Ama," read a statement on the club's official website.

Crucial

"Parma FC announced today [Monday] that it has completed the agreement with the Brazilian striker Amauri, who returns to wear the shirt after the crucial contribution he made during the 2010-11 season." Amauri netted seven times in 11 Serie A appearances for Parma during his previous loan spell. With it clear that he was deemed surplus to requirements at Juventus, he linked up with Fiorentina during the January transfer window. He struck only once in 13 league outings, though, and finds himself on the move again after just six months with the Viola.
