New Inter Milan chief Erick Thohir has confirmed his liking for Cagliari star Radja Nainggolan.
The Belgium midfielder has long been linked with one of Serie A's top sides, but so far the Sardinian outfit have managed to hang on to his services.
But now it seems Inter will be one those trying for his signature, sooner rather than later.
"There are two months to go until we can do anything but we have already spoken to the management about buying players to strengthen the side," Thohir told Indonesia's TV One News.
"I like Nainggolan. Being of Indonesia origin, I would like him here, but this is the sort of decision which has to be talked through with the club first."
Thohir did say he was happy with Inter's current squad.
"There is a good mix of young and experienced players," he said.
"[Rodrigo] Palacio, [Andrea] Ranocchia and [Esteban] Cambiasso are great players and there is also [Yuto] Nagatomo and [Samir] Handanovic who is a great goalkeeper.
"But we will decide what to do together and Inter will still be reinforced."
Meanwhile, another Cagliari midfielder linked with a move is Albin Ekdahl.
"First and foremost, I am happy at Cagliari." Ekdahl told Expressen.
"The coach has confidence in me and I am playing regularly. At the same time, I feel that I am still making progress."
"But I want to play for one of the big clubs in one of the biggest leagues (in the future).
"However, I am not thinking about it and I focus on the present. I want to continue my progress, earn a regular place in the starting XI (for Sweden) and hopefully become a key player in the future."
