Siena midfielder Paul Codrea is set for a month on the sidelines after picking up an injury.
The Romanian international injured his hand in Wednesday's Serie A game with Torino as the Tuscan side secured a 2-1 win.
Subsequent examinations have revealed that Codrea has suffered damage to the tendon in one of his fingers and has been booked in for surgery on Friday morning.
Siena's medical staff now expect the midfielder to be out of action for 30 days if he suffers no complications in his recovery.
Such a time-frame means he is likely to miss the upcoming games against Cagliari, Milan and Messina, as well as Romania's game against Belarus on October 7.
Codrea joined Siena from Palermo in August and the win over Torino marked his first competitive appearance for his new side.
