French-born stopper arrives at Serie A club

Centre-back Yohan Benalouane has signed a one-year loan deal with Italian club Cesena from St Etienne. The 23-year-old, who came through the youth ranks at the French club, joins newly-promoted Serie A outfit Cesena for a reported €1million (£826,000). French-born Benalouane had been poised for a move to Italian giants Juventus this summer but the deal failed to materialise. The stopper revealed he is thrilled to have completed the move to Cesena following lengthy negotiations with the club. "Finally I've signed," Benalouane told Sky Italia. "I'm really happy to be here. "It has been a complicated negotiation, but now we have found the agreement. "I'm happy because I arrived at Cesena because I wanted it."
