Lavezzi and Cigarini stopping but Napoli considering Hoffer requests

Reported Chelsea and Liverpool target Ezequiel Lavezzi has signed a contract extension with Napoli. The Serie A outfit have tied down the Argentina hot-shot, whose previous deal was due to expire in 2012, until June 2015. The player, who joined Napoli two years ago from San Lorenzo, has three goals in 17 league appearances for his club this season. The 24-year-old had reportedly interested both the Blues and Reds in the last six months but Napoli club president Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed the new deal on Monday. He told the club's official website: "We started negotiating with Lavezzi back in November.

No problems

"There have not been any problems between the two sides as we have always been open to negotiations. "We have agreed a contract extension until 2015. "Lavezzi has always expressed his wish to remain at Napoli as he loves the city and has always felt like an Azzurro player in the long term. "We have reached an agreement that has given us mutual satisfaction." But the club president said they would have to consider requests carefully for Austrian international striker Erwin Hoffer, who has made just three substitute appearances since moving to the club in a £6million summer switch from Rapid Vienna.
Going nowhere
But he insists midfielder Luca Cigarini will be going nowhere as the 23-year-old has made eight Serie A starts and six substitute appearances following his move from Atalanta in July. De Laurentiis said: "Hoffer? We have had so many requests but we must consider carefully before giving him away. "Cigarini? We paid 12million (euros) in the summer, he is a player that we intend to keep and for me he is not on the market."
