ATALANTA starlet Alex Pinardi has revealed that he would be happy to see out his contract at the club, but likewise is keen to earn an extension at the Stadio Azzurri D'Italia.

The Brescia-born ace is currently in his sixth term with the Nerazzuri, having come through the club's ranks, and has just over a year remaining on his current deal.

Although Pinardi is happy to keep his options open, he realises that should he stay, he would have to work hard to gain a regular first-team place.

"My contract with Atalanta expires in 2005 and up till now no one from Atalanta has called me to discuss an extension," said Pinardi.

"If nothing happens in the coming months I'll finish my contract here and then be free to go anywhere.

"Alternatively I'll ask for a new agreement. Obviously I don't want guaranteed first-team football. This can't be asked by anybody, but I would want a different salary."

Pinardi could well in be in line for a new deal, as the attacking midfielder believes he is having a career-best campaign so far.

"Surely this is my best single season I've played up to now," added Pinardi. "I started well, then I had physical problems but I've been able to come back in a good way."
