Italian duo banned

Francesco Flachi and Morris Carrozzieri have been suspended for two months.

Sampdoria striker Francesco Flachi and Atalanta's Morris Carrozzieri have been suspended for their involvement in a betting scandal.

The pair were given two month bans following an investigation into allegations the duo helped gather information for punters.

The Football League's disciplinary commission ruled that Flachi had "sought to gain information on the outcome of games" for a third party.

Carrozzieri, who used to be Flachi's team-mate at Sampdoria, was found guilty for the same offence relating to a lower division game.

Sampdoria have also been fined ‚é¼20,000 (£13,000) by the disciplinary commission.
