Vincenzo Iaquinta is hoping to return to Italy's squad for their European championship qualifiers next month.
The Udinese striker missed the recent games against Lithuania and France as he has been lacking match fitness.
Iaquinta was on the score sheet in the 3-3 draw with Sampdoria and hopes he has proved he is ready for a return to Roberto Donadoni's side.
"Before the last call-ups Donadoni told me I wouldn't be part of the squad because I was short of fitness," Iaquinta said.
"Now I feel good and I think within ten days I will have found my top form."
The 26-year-old hopes to be joined in the Azzurri squad by Udinese strike partner Antonio Di Natale.
Di Natale has been in fine form at the start of the campaign, scoring in both of his Serie A starts, and Iaquinta hopes he is rewarded by Donadoni.
Iaquinta added: "I expect to be present for Ukraine and Georgia and I hope Antonio Di Natale will be there as well.
"Toto has incredible talent and he is playing really well."
