GIUSEPPE SIGNORI'S return to the Bologna line-up brought about a turn in fortunes for the Stadio Renato Della'Ara side.

Franceso Guidolin's men have had a tough time in Serie A of late with just two wins in their last 11 games but the former Lazio star's early strike on his return ensured all three points against Udinese, much to the delight of his manager.

"Signori made a masterpiece," said Guidolin. "We played well in the first half and we knew Udinese would cause us problems in the second but we held on.

"I don't have any personal problems with Signori, but he has suffered a lot of injuries over the years and sometimes the coach has to make painful decisions."

Udinese boss Luciano Spalletti says he knew his side would be in for a tough time as soon as Bologna took an early advantage.

"We were good in the second half but with Bologna having an early advantage I knew things were going to be difficult."
