Fiorentina have breathed a big sigh of relief with news that Italian striker Alessandro Matri's injury is not serious.
Matri, who scored twice on his Fiorentina debut in Sunday's 3-0 triumph at Catania, sustained a muscular problem during that match.
A statement from Fiorentina said: "Alessandro Matri underwent tests which have excluded any lesion to his posterior muscle on his leg, hence, the player will return to train with the team as normal in the next few days."
Fiorentina reinforced their attacking line last week by acquiring Matri on loan from AC Milan until the end of the season after losing last summer's top signings Mario Gomez and Giuseppe Rossi to knee injuries.
However, the Viola will be without the services of Nenad Tomovic for at least two weeks, with the Serbian defender having damaged his kneecap at the weekend.
Fiorentina are fourth in Serie A and host Genoa on Sunday evening.
