Ramires believes the signing of Brazilian playmaker Oscar shows that Chelsea will be in the hunt for trophies despite the loss of Didier Drogba.
The Ivory Coast hit man joined his countryman Salomon Kalou out of the door at Stamford Bridge this summer, which left Chelsea looking a little light up front.
But Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has dug deep to land Oscar from Internacional, Marko Marin from Werder Bremen and Eden Hazard for an eye-watering combined fee of around £64m to bolster their attacking options.
And Ramires insists that the big spending European champions will be ready to fight for trophies on every front when the season begins.
"This preparation period has been great to make the team gel and make the player become fit," Ramires told
Lancenet.
"We lost some key players like Drogba, but we signed some talented players like Oscar and Hazard, so we didn't lose strength.
"I am confident that we will have a great season, but the truth is that in football you have to produce on the pitch. We will keep working to be in condition to produce our best when the season starts."
Oscar, 20, is part of the Brazil squad for London 2012 and will not meet his new team mates until the games are over.
His arrival takes the number of boys from Brazil at Chelsea to four and Ramires hopes it will finally end any suggestions that South American players are not suited to life in the Premier League.
"The confirmation of the signing of Oscar made us very happy. As far as David Luiz, Lucas Piazon and I are concerned he will feel at home from his first day at the club.
"It is good that the perception of Brazilian players not being able to adapt to English football is changing," he added.
"I am sure Chelsea will be very beneficial for Oscar's career and he will help us a lot to fight for titles. We are here to help him in what he needs."
