Italian attracts approaches from England amid Everton speculation

Fiorentina captain and reported Everton target Alessandro Gamberini has attracted approaches from England and Germany, according to his agent. The defender has been linked with a move away from the Serie A club after seven seasons, with the Toffees, Napoli and Bayern Munich all thought to be chasing his signature. Gamberini has another year left to run on his contract with the Viola and his agent, Francesco Romano, says the 30-year-old is yet to attract any concrete offers. Romano claims English and German clubs have enquired over the Italy international but says he will wait until he has discussed his future with Fiorentina before making any decisions. He told Il Corriere Di Napoli: "There are no concrete offers, only rumours. "Napoli has not asked me anything, while there are requests from abroad; namely from Germany and England.

Talks

"Gamberini has another year on his Fiorentina contract and I will meet them next week to understand their intentions. "Alessandro has always given priority to Fiorentina and so, until we have spoken with the club and the coach, we will not look at other options." Romano says Gamberini, who joined Fiorentina from Bologna in 2005, would welcome an approach from Napoli. He added: "Absolutely yes. Napoli is a must for any player but this does not mean anything. "If a proposal was received, we would be happy to take the deal."
