Fiorentina have agreed a deal to sign highly-rated defender Ahmed Hegazy from Egyptian club Ismaily.
The 21-year-old centre-back, nicknamed the 'Nesta of the Pyramids', has earned rave reviews for his performances in his homeland and has already made the breakthrough at senior international level.
Fiorentina have now confirmed his arrival on their official website, with reports suggesting they paid €1.5million (£1.2m) to secure his services on a four-year contract.
Hegazy is thrilled to have made the move to Italy and will now be looking to establish himself as a regular starter when the new season kicks off.
"Being here is one of the best moments of my life and my career," he told violachannel.tv.
"I am a central defender and I put myself at the disposal of the new coach of Fiorentina."
Fiorentina are currently without a permanent manager after Delio Rossi was sacked for physically attacking midfielder Adem Ljajic during a match against Novara in May.
Vincenzo Montella is expected to take charge after leaving his position with Catania, as Fiorentina look to bounce back from finishing in the bottom half of the Serie A table.
