Price too high for Spanish midfielder

Sevilla will not be increasing their bid for West Brom's Spanish midfielder Borja Valero. The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Mallorca in La Liga, and caught the eye of the Andalucians after a number of impressive performances. Sevilla put in an undisclosed bid, thought to be €4million (£3.3m), for the former Real Madrid trainee, but this was snubbed by the Baggies. Chairman Jose Maria Del Nido has now given up on signing Valero, as he cannot stretch to West Brom's asking price. He told Punto Radio: "For me this is out. The English want €8m and we offered €4m. Our money is limited and we do not have the capacity for extra. "We respect the value imposed by WBA but now Sevilla is working in other directions." Sevilla finished fourth in La Liga last season and earned a place in next season's UEFA Champions League.
