Fiorentina are set to open talks with Christian Brocchi about making his stay at the club permanent.
Brocchi joined Fiorentina initially on a season long-loan deal last summer and he has impressed at the Artemio Franchi.
Milan are thought to be keen on having Brocchi back at the club, but Fiorentina are still hoping to bring him to Florence on a permanent basis.
Fiorentina general director Pantaleo Corvino has admitted he has held talks with Milan officials about a move for Brocchi.
"Milan have been informed of our intention to sign Brocchi permanently," said Corvino.
"I've personally announced it in an unofficial way to Ariedo Braida.
"Due to the fact the rules allow us to do this until June 20, we have decided to take all the necessary time before officially presenting the requested sum."
Meanwhile, Fiorentina have clinched the signing of Vlada Avramov from Vicenza.
The Serbian custodian will provide cover for Sebastien Frey and Bogdan Lobont at the Viola next season.
