Former Portugal international Rui Costa says he is likely to quit or leave Milan in the summer, following a lack of regular first team action at the club.
The 34-year-old has only made 10 Serie A appearances this season and did not feature in the UEFA Champions League game with Barcelona, although he was on the bench.
The playmaker is awaiting an answer on his position with the club before he decides whether to quit the game or move back to one of his former clubs.
"I strongly believe in myself," he told Portuguese television. "I'm convinced I could help Milan again, but Galliani and Ancelotti must also be convinced of this.
"I have another year's deal, but they must tell me if they plan to use me again. I don't want to be wasted. That's the reason I left the national team.
"If Milan don't believe in me I'll find another solution.
"There are two possible outcomes in that scenario: if I can't find an adequate solution, I'll stop playing, but if I consider myself able to carry on, I'd like to go back to Benfica or Fiorentina," he said.
He moved to The San Siro from Fiorentina, in the summer of 2001, for £28 million and will be hoping to feature in Milan's last four league games.
Milan are second in the league, five points behind Juventus, and still have an outside chance of winning Serie A.
