Contrast for Viola pair

Dino Zoff and Giampaolo Pazzini were at odds over Fiorentina's draw with Juventus.

Dino Zoff and Giampaolo Pazzini were at odds over the merits of Fiorentina's 3-3 draw with Juventus.

The Viola led the title chasers on three separate occasions in Serie A on Saturday only to be pegged back for a point.

The result leaves Fiorentina just above the relegation zone and coach Zoff lamented the failure to capitalise on their moments in the ascendancy.

"It's a hard thing to accept," said Zoff. "Three times in the lead and three times we suffered from Juve's recovery.

"It will change. Unfortunately we have had the merit to obtain the lead but then we made a few mistakes, although in certain cases Juve did good things.

"I'm absolutely disappointed because scoring three goals against Juve and drawing isn't a good thing."

But striker Pazzini, who scored the opening goal at Artemio Franchi, insists there are positives to be drawn from the stalemate.

Pazzini commented: "I think we have played a really big match and performance. Certainly this has been the best Fiorentina of the season.

"Unfortunately we haven't been able to take advantage of the chances we had.

"But certainly this result gives us faith and I'm optimistic about our future."
