New Fiorentina coach Dino Zoff has stated he believes the Stadio Artemio Franchi outfit need to bolster their side.

Former Italy coach Zoff replaced Sergio Buso earlier this week after the club secured just five wins from their opening 20 Serie A games.

Zoff's first job is to evaluate the squad he has inherited, but has conceded the team are looking to wheel and deal in the transfer market.

"When you take a job during the season it means that in that team there are problems that need to be solved starting from the top," said Zoff.

"I know a few players, while I've seen the others only on television. So I need time to evaluate the squad.

"Anyway, I think we will do something in the market, we've spoken about it and we will see what we can do."

The Viola are reportedly close to agreeing a deal for Atalanta striker Giampaolo Pazzini, while former Lazio star Claudio Lopez has been mentioned as a possible target.
