GREEK giants Olympiakos have made a £9 million bid for Fiorentina striker Nuno Gomes.

The Portuguese front-man was bought by Fiorentina for £12 million following his performances in Euro 200, and the Italians are thought to want to recoup all there outlay to sell him.

Gomes was due to be sold to French side Paris Saint Germain as part of a cash-plus-players deal with Brazilian Christian, but his move to Bordeaux meant that the deal fell through.

Gomes, who was signed to replace Gabriel Batistuta, wants to stay in Florence and prove himself after a quiet first season with the club.
