Palermo are on the brink of appointing Siena boss Giuseppe Sannino as their new coach, according to the club's president Maurizio Zamparini.
After gaining promotion to the Serie A last season, Siena retained their top-flight status under Sannino this term following his arrival from Varese last summer.
The 55-year-old Italian will replace Bortu Mutti at the helm after he guided the club for the last few months of the campaign, overseeing a 16th-placed finish.
Zamparini expects Sannino to be unveiled in the near future, with the deal nearly wrapped up.
He told the Italian League: "For Sannino only the official announcement is missing but I'd say the affair is practically done."
