Palermo have sealed a move for Bologna defender Ciro Capuano, while Kewullay Conteh has been farmed out on loan.
Twenty-five-year-old Capuano was a mainstay for the Serie B side last term, playing in 33 games, but has now opted to step up to the top flight at La Favorita.
Meanwhile, Palermo's 29-year-old Ivorian defender Conteh has joined Serie A newcomers Atalanta on loan.
Conteh signed a contract extension with the Sicilians earlier this year and is contracted for another two seasons to the Serie A side.
Despite pledging his long-term future to Palermo, the former Chievo ace has returned to Atalanta where he played in the 1995/96 season.
