Palermo defender Andrea Barzagli has asked the club for clarification about their plans for him.
A number of Serie A clubs, including Fiorentina and Internazionale, have been linked with a move for the 25-year-old and Palermo had originally seemed willing to sell.
However, Rosanero president Maurizio Zamparini has now said that he is not prepared to part with the centre back for any price.
Barzagli, currently in Duisburg with the Italian World Cup squad, admitted that he was growing increasingly frustrated and was desperate for answers.
"Palermo must be clear," he said in exasperation.
"At the beginning they were asking for a sum of money, then they said I was untransferable.
"Maurizio Zamparini changes his mind a lot, so I would like to know what my future will be."
Meanwhile, Palermo's interest in Internazionale midfielder David Pizarro looks like coming to nothing.
The Chilean has insisted that he wants to stay at the Giuseppe Meazza.
