De Biasi's troops are currently six points clear of the relegation zone with four games remaining, but a home win over Empoli would all but secure their top-flight spot for next season.
The Modena chief cannot underestimate the importance of plundering three points against Empoli, who lie one place below De Biasi's side.
"It's useless making calculations at this point of the season if there are certainties," said De Biasi.
"If we obtain a win, salvation will be practically sure, also if the mathematics will give us confirmation next week. With Empoli, winning would be very important."
Clouding De Biasi's plans for the tussle with Empoli is a concern over the fitness of striking starlet Giuseppe Sculli.
The club's top scorer picked up a thigh injury for the Italian Under-21 side and De Biasi will wait until the last possible moment before finalising his team selection.
He added: "We'll see how Sculli's recovery goes in the next few hours. Do you want to know if I'll line him up if he will be fit? I've said we'll see.
"We'll see what is the best way to face Empoli. I think I'll field the team that would be able to give a lot of trouble to Silvio Baldini's side. They have good individuals but, especially, they have a good game."
