AC Milan chief Adriano Galliani admits the club are unsure whether Giampaolo Pazzini will be fit to face Barcelona on Tuesday night.

The striker scored in the Rossoneri's 2-0 win over Genoa in Serie A on Friday night, but then suffered an ankle injury and could now miss the crucial UEFA Champions League last-16 second-leg clash at Camp Nou.

Galliani has revealed that results from a scan conducted on the former Fiorentina and Inter Milan star are expected on Sunday.

He told the Italian press: "I'm waiting for news on Pazzini to see if he is able to play on Tuesday in Barcelona. He will undergo a medical assessment and scans in the next 24 hours."

Head coach Massimiliano Allegri is also sweating over the fitness of defender Philippe Mexes after he was substituted at half-time at the Stadio Marassi with a muscular problem.

Milan hold a 2-0 advantage over the Catalan club thanks to first-leg goals from Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sulley Muntari at the San Siro.
