On-loan Helsingborg striker Nikola Djurdjic has fuelled speculation of a January move by saying he feels ready to make the step up to a better league.

The Serbian, at Helsingborg on a temporary deal from Norwegian club Haugesund, is reportedly on the radar of several European clubs after impressing in Sweden, scoring 11 goals in 14 games.

Serie A outfits AC Milan and Udinese and Dutch side AZ Alkmaar are believed to be keen, while sides from England and Scotland are also thought to be monitoring the 26-year-old.

Djurdjic is not ruling out a January move away from Haugesund but doubts whether Helsingborg has the funds to make his deal permanent.

The frontman says he is hoping to play in a more high-profile league after making his mark in the Swedish Allsvenskan but is yet to receive any concrete offers.

He told Novosti: "I don't know what will happen in January.

"I know that Helsingborg, where I'm on loan, could buy me but I don't think they can because my fee is over £1million. I don't believe they have enough money.

"I also think that my time has come to move into a stronger league. I would like to move to a bigger club.

"I had some talks but so far there's been no real offers."

He added: "This is the best season of my career. At Haugesund I scored 12 goals, then I scored 11 at Helsingborg. I hope it will go on like this."
