Colombia international's agent confirms he is leaving Villarreal

West Brom have been put on red alert after Villarreal's Cristian Zapata indicated he is set to leave the club this summer. The 25-year-old was part of the Primera Liga side that was relegated last season in what was his first campaign in Spain. Zapata, a Colombia international, was chased by a number of sides in Italy including AC Milan, Juventus and Napoli before opting for Villarreal. Their relegation has re-ignited the interest of teams in Serie A, but his agent has confirmed he will not return to Italy. "Even though the market is long and anything can happen, I don't believe that he can return to Italy," his agent Massimo Italiani told Sport Italia. "What I can say with some certainty is that he will leave Villarreal." West Brom are the latest side to be linked with an approach, and Italiani's comments appear to suggest that a move to the Premier League could be a possibility.
