AC Milan have confirmed their interest in Barcelona youngster Thiago Alcantara, sparking reports of a potential swap deal involving Thiago Silva.
Milan, having missed out on the Serie A title in 2011/12, are looking to bring fresh faces into Giuseppe Meazza this summer.
Potential targets are being identified, and Thiago has made their wish list.
The 21-year-old forward is a product of the famed academy system at Camp Nou and has formed part of Barca's first-team plans for the last two years.
He faces considerable competition for places in Catalunya, though, and may be tempted to try his luck elsewhere.
Milan would welcome the opportunity to bring him on board, but have refused to comment on speculation suggesting Barca target Thiago Silva could head in the opposite direction.
"We like Thiago Alcantara, that is for sure," Milan's director general Ariedo Braida told COPE Radio.
"He is a great player."
