Zapata's agent says no English offers

Cristian Zapata's agent insists that no offers have been tabled for Udinese's Colombia international defender. The 23-year-old, who is contracted to the Serie A outfit until June 2012, has been linked with a move to the Gunners. Arsenal have already been busy in the transfer market this summer having captured Laurent Koscielny although Arsene Wenger is keen to further strengthen his defensive options. However, the stopper's agent Massimo Italiani claims he has received no offers from English or Italian clubs. "It's nice to hear that Arsenal are interested in the player," Italiani told calciomercato.com.

Doing well

"For several years now, Zapata has been linked to prestigious clubs and that means that he is doing things well. "Several Italian clubs are also interested in Zapata but for the time being, I have not received any offers from Italy or England." Italiani believes Zapata would be open to a move to the Premier League this summer. "He is happy at Udinese but like any other player, he wants to improve and grow," he continued. "If an offer from a big club arrives, then it will be taken into consideration. But for the time being there is nothing official, just rumours."
