Juventus are on the verge of completing the signing of goalkeeper Marco Storari from Serie A rivals AC Milan.
The Old Lady have confirmed the stopper is to pen a contract on Wednesday, where he will link up with Gianluigi Buffon and Alex Manninger at Stadio Olimpico.
The 33-year-old could find himself in contention to take the number one jersey at the club with Italian number one Buffon injured indefinitely after he sustained a back problem at the World Cup finals.
But Storari says he is prepared to fight for his place against former Arsenal custodian Manninger, who provided back-up to Buffon last season.
Storari, who spent time on loan at Sampdoria last term, said: "I'm not scared.
"I already did it with (Christian) Abbiati, Dida and (Zeljko) Kalac at Milan, from fourth-choice goalkeeper I was once again first.
"I will do my work calmly."
Storari had enjoyed his time as number one at the Rossoneri last season but injury saw him lose his place before moving to Samp for a stint.
His arrival at the Italian giants in 2007 has been punctuated been other spells at Levante, Cagliari and Fiorentina.
The move will see Storari link-up with manager Luigi Del Neri once again, who oversaw the keeper during his time as Sampdoria manager last season.
Del Neri guided the club to one of their most successful seasons, finishing fourth in Serie A and earning a UEFA Champions League berth.
Milan, meanwhile, have moved quickly to replace Storari and have secured the signature of Genoa's Marco Amelia.
The 28-year-old is expected to be officially confirmed as a Milan player on Thursday, with reports suggesting he has penned a one-year loan deal at the San Siro.
Amelia was another nonplussed by the prospect of fighting for his place in the side.
He said: "It's the chance of a lifetime. I'm ready to face this great experience.
"It's normal that in a club like Milan there's competition."
