Milan have had their fears over Serginho confirmed with the news that he has fractured ligaments and is expected to be out for around two months.
The Brazilian winger left Giuseppe Meazza after Saturday's draw with Juventus on crutches and the club hoped to have a more accurate diagnosis after the swelling had subsided.
The Samba star is now definitely out of the Rossoneri's UEFA Champions League clash against Belgian side Brugge on Tuesday.
The injury is likely to keep Serginho out at least until Christmas and he may not return to first-team duty until the New Year.
