MILAN striker Kaka says he was happy with his debut performance, despite the Serie A giants losing the Seat Pagine Gialle Trophy to Romanian side National Bucharest.

Kaka's performance was one of the highlights of the match, as the two sides drew 1-1 in normal time. The Romanians won the penalty shoot-out 5-2 but the Brazilian starlet was just pleased to have made his first appearance for the Champions League winners.

He told Gazzetta dello Sport: "I was really excited because it is not easy wearing a jersey like Milan's for the first time.

"But new responsibilities give me pride and I think I'll be able to face them without problems."

Milan face Portuguese side Porto in the European SuperCup on Friday, but the 20-year-old is ineligible to play as he arrived too late in Milan to be registered for the competition.

However, the youngster is happy to watch his team-mates perform on Friday and admits that they have made him feel very welcome since he made the switch from Sao Paulo.

"For me it isn't a problem," he added. "The season is long and I'll have all the time to play other games.

"I heard Milan supporters who were singing my name. And with my team-mates too everything has been good.

"Rivaldo is a champion and a friend and he has given me a lot of help. But he hasn't been the only one to talk to me on the pitch. Nesta and Ambrosini gave me courage. I really feel a piece of Milan."
