CARLO ANCELOTTI has told planetfootball that Andrei Shevchenko's return could lead to a change of tactics, despite Milan's superb start to the season.

The rossoneri have been in scintillating form this season, with the arrival of Rivaldo, and the form of Rui Costa and Filippo Inzaghi instrumental in big wins domestically and in Europe.

This form has been despite an injury to star striker Shevchenko, and the Ukrainian's return to fitness has given coach Ancelotti a selection headache.

"Sheva could perhaps play as soon as Wednesday," insisted Ancelotti to planetfootball. "I may play with two strikers."

Eyebrows were raised when Milan signed Inzaghi from Juventus, but after an injury-hit first season at the Giuseppe Meazza, the Italian striker has hit a purple patch thus far this season.

"He is phenomenal in the box," said Ancelotti. "Not even Ronaldo is as strong.

"Perhaps only Hernan Crespo is as deadly.

"Rivaldo is a wonderful player and a very, very humble man - too humble in my opinion. He shares a lot of traits with Zinedine Zidane.

"Khaka Kaladze is the most improved player for Milan this year. He appears to be learning a great deal whilst Andrea Pirlo is doing very well in that position."

Ancelotti also commented on his current first choice of goalkeeper - admitting that Brazilian Dida is in pole position.

"For now Dida is ahead of Christian Abbiati - even if he is likely to make the odd mistake," added the tactician.

"We have been playing well with only Inzaghi up front - and five attack-minded players in midfield - Andrea Pirlo, Rivaldo, Rui Costa Serginho and Clarence Seedorf.

"We cannot expect the goals to last forever - we will go through a bad spell but we are ready for that."
