Midfielder desperate to return to Ibrox, according to agent

Gennaro Gattuso's agent has revealed that the midfielder has already spoken to Ally McCoist and is desperate to seal a return to Rangers. The veteran Italian is looking for a new challenge after leaving AC Milan and has previously admitted he would be interested in going back to Ibrox, where he spent a season towards the start of his career. Gattuso's representative, Andrea D'Amico, is now preparing to hold further talks with the Scottish club as he looks to establish whether a deal would be possible. D'Amico insists that neither money nor a lack of European football next season would be a major stumbling block as the 34-year-old has set his heart on sealing a switch. "It is Rino's wish to come back to Rangers but first I have to speak to the people at the club to find out what the situation is," D'Amico told the Daily Record. "He knows all about the Rangers financial situation. We know it is difficult but we can work to find a solution. "Rino talked with Ally on the telephone. They know each other very well and like and respect each other. Now we have to work to see if something can happen. "Not being in Europe next season would not be an issue for Rino. "I will meet with Rangers again tomorrow for further talks."

Green delight

A transfer embargo on Rangers was overturned in the Court of Session on Tuesday but the issue has been sent back to the Scottish Football Association's appeals process. Prospective new owner Charles Green is delighted to hear that players of Gattuso's profile would still be interested in joining the club despite the financial situation. "Fans should be aware of just how big the club is when one of the greatest players publicly states he wants to finish his career at Rangers at a time when we can't sign anyone," said Green. "He has confirmed he wants to play for Rangers and that is something we could do if we were able to sign someone."
