Lazio have confirmed that Mauro Zarate could leave the club before the end of the transfer window. The former Birmingham ace has been linked with a move back to England, with Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea all linked with the 24-yaer-old. Zarate was dropped from Lazio's comprehensive Europa League win against Robotnicki - which only fuelled speculation that he could be set to move on. "Zarate is an important and fundamental player for us," stated Lazio's technical coordinator Igli Tare said. "But if something happens between now and the end of the transfer window then we'll evaluate things." His brother and agent Sergio, insisted he was happy in the Eternal city but he could not continue if the situation remained as it was. "Mauro loves Lazio and wants to stay, but not under these conditions," his brother Sergio is quoted as saying. Lazio chief Edy Reja seemed to have few issues should Zarate be sold, saying: "Whether the player is placed on the transfer market is a decision that only the club can make."
